Best Bars In Tysons Corner VA : 9 Unique Spots

I’ve always thought of Tysons Corner as the location of my favorite mall, especially when the Rainforest Cafe was still there. Now there’s more and more popping up in Tysons and it’s actually a great place for a date night or outing with friends, especially since it’s right outside of DC and along the silver line metro.
I put together a list of the best bars in Tysons Corner VA which include a speakeasy, a few beer gardens and live music bars, fancy cocktail lounges and a few casual happy hour spots. 🍻
Star Hill Biergarten Tysons : #1 of the Best Bars in Tysons Corner VA
Star Hill brewery in Tysons is one of the newest bars in the area and honestly it’s completely up-leveled the bar scene there. It’s become a regular gathering place for locals like me!
There’s both a rooftop biergarten and around the corner an indoor taproom, both with live music regularly. This is why it’s my top choice for the best bars in Tysons Corner.

In the warmer weather months, typically early Spring through late Fall, the rooftop Biergarten is the place to be. They have free live music multiple times a week and great food and drinks.
The atmosphere is cool because you have the lights of the surrounding high rise buildings around, and it’s on top of a large rooftop area with a sprawling green space, separate food truck and beer garden area, and even a mini-golf course Perch Putt. Star Hill is family friendly and kids have lots of space to run around, as are most breweries in the area do.

During the winter, rainy weather days or when you’re in the mood for an indoor brewery visit, the indoor brewpub is great. There’s also live music regularly here and they have a big food menu.
Level99 and Victory Brewing
Level99 and Victory Brewing is a new game bar experience at Tysons Corner mall, geared toward adults but for all ages. If you like Dave and Busters and other game bars like I do, this one is for you. I was excited for this one to open for a long time and it’s definitely the most unique option out of the best bars in Tysons Corner.
The concept is that there are over 50 small rooms which have a different physical or mental challenge in each one, meant for small groups to play together. You’re able to get drinks from the bar to bring into the games with you and there’s a place to sit down and eat inside too.

They have music and there’s art on the walls to check out while you wait in any lines. There should only be short lines except on very crowded days because each game doesn’t take long to play.
Make sure to secure a reservation before you go as they do sell out. My sister and I made the mistake of just showing up during the holidays when the mall was packed, and they said they were full so we had to just get a drink at the bar without playing games. I can’t wait to make it back soon to actually play!
Earls Kitchen + Bar Tysons : Best of the Bars In Tysons Corner For Happy Hour
Earls Kitchen and Bar might look like your average restaurant and bar from the outside but it’s not. There’s a reason it’s known as the #1 of the best bars in Tysons Corner VA for happy hour by locals.
Earls is a casual spot at Tyson’s Corner Mall with a really great happy hour every day of the week including weekends and an additional happy hour on week days after 9pm and brunch before 12:00.

Along with great prices, the menu has every type of drink you could imagine – wine, beer, craft cocktails, but also unique things like an aperol spitz tower, margarita shots and Jell-O shots.
Barrel & Bushel
If you like the sound of Earl’s Kitchen, right next door is Barrel and Bushel – another budget friendly bar with a great happy hour menu every day of the week which includes appetizers. The menu is a little more classic than Earl’s and the bar features a really great covered outdoor patio they open up on warmer days.
ENTYSE, Wine Bar & Lounge
ENTYSE is a classy wine bar in the Tysons Ritz-Carlton and in Tysons Galleria. The atmosphere is upscale but still casual enough with lowkey live music like jazz or live pianists on the weekends, and a full dinner menu.
Keep in mind that this place is pricy, so it’s not the best choice for anyone visiting on a budget. It’s another great choice for a classy night out or date night with a quieter vibe compared to Naisho Room.
Shipgarten (Tysons Biergarten) : Best of the Bars In Tysons Corner VA For Families & Large Groups
Shipgarten is definitely the most unique of the bars in Tyson’s Corner VA and a really special addition to the area. It’s another relatively new place to hangout in the area and is basically a spin on the classic beer garden experience consisting of shipping containers, tents and outdoor areas (some covered) to hangout at.
This fun spot reminds me of a brewery – somewhere where groups of all ages can come to hangout where there’s something for everyone and plenty of space. Shipgarten has regular events each week like mini festivals, live music and trivia nights.

It’s also a very family friendly spot – they have lots of playground equipment and even moon bounces set up for kids!! Because there’s so much outdoor space it’s a great spot for warmer days and evenings, but there’s still plenty going on there in the winter.
Patsy’s American
Patsy’s is part of the Great American Restaurants group which I love, and earns a spot on this list of the best bars in Tysons Corner VA for its lively atmosphere, fun back bar and delicious food menu.
The building itself is gorgeous and inside it’s massive making it a great spot for larger groups. The back bar has a sports bar vibe and the back patio is perfect for warm days.
Some highlights of the food menu are the crab cakes and lobster roll, but they have plenty of non-seafood items. If you haven’t tried them yet you have to get the Ozzie rolls to start. I’m obsessed and I order them for take out every time I visit a GAR restaurant.
The Naisho Room : Hidden Cocktail Bar in Tysons Corner VA
The Naisho Room is a new reservation-only speakeasy style bar inside the Watermark Hotel. The vibe is Tokyo nightlife and they even have DJs and live music on the weekends. There’s also a delicious food and dessert menu at Naisho Room including an 18-22 course Omakase tasting menu (wow!).
This is definitely one of the most high end bars on this list as Tysons tends to be more casual. It’s perfect for a fancy night out or date night – just make sure to secure a reservation a few weeks ahead of time!
I like to write about the most fun and unique, and a lot of the time budget-friendly things to do in the area. If you’re looking for more content like this, check out my other Northern VA and Washington DC travel blogs.
